October, November, December 2021

The fall is always a busy time of year.

Matt and I enjoyed a few days away in San Francisco.  We had a really nice time doing the touristy stuff like Alcatraz, watching the sea lions, eating delicious sea food, visiting the Golden Gate Bridge, Muri Woods and a quick trip over to Napa to enjoy a few wineries.  It was a great few says for us to reconnect and enjoy time for just us.

October ended as always with our family's favorite holiday...Halloween. We had a visit from the Grim Reaper, Creepy Clown and a Cow.  The kids always have such a fun time trick-or-treating and giving out candy to the neighborhood kids. Our neighborhood does such a great job with Halloween.

In November, Brooklyn and I went on another camping trip with her girl scouts troop. She is really loving all of the adventures she gets to go on with girl scouts.

We celebrated Thanksgiving with the family and Matt smoked a delicious turkey.

In December, Carter had his Winter band concert. I love seeing him play and he gets better every year.

We had a wonderful Christmas celebrating with family and the kids racked up all sorts of goodies.

We ended the year with a quick trip to the Dallas Zoo during school break and rang in the New Year pretty low key with our besties the Stricklands.

2021 was a good year and I continue to be grateful for the life I have been blessed with.

July, August & September 2021

July was a pretty low key month.  We celebrated Matt's birthday and just enjoyed swimming at the neighborhood pool.

August on the other hand was very busy.   We kicked off the month with a pretty big milestone birthday, Carter turned 13!! I can't believe I have a teenager!

We rented the clubhouse at our pool and he invited several friends to a pool party.  It was a lot of fun!

Then the dreaded, school started! Actually the kid's are usually pretty excited to go back to school.

The girls had awesome teacher and were so excited for 4th grade.

We headed into September with another milestone birthday!  The girls turned 10! They have been begging for a sleepover so we agreed that was a great way to celebrate double digits.

When you have twins and they want different themes for their birthday you make it a Harry Potter Llama party.

They also got a special right of passage - they got their ears pierced.

Also, Brooklyn begged for a Hamster, so we got her one. She named her Pepper.  She died 4 months later.

Carter got a cool opportunity to play with the Heritage HS Band at a game.  They play at Ford Stadium where the Cowboys practice, quite a step up from when I was in high school.   We had so much fun and it was neat to get a glimpse of our future. The girls now want to be a cheerleader or on the dance team.

Adalyn also decided to try something new...softball. It wasn't her sport but I am so proud of her for giving it a try.  She continued to play soccer, which is her sport, and had a lot of fun. She is turning into quite an athlete.
